Prof Moses Makgato
Founder & CEO
Prof Makgato is a former academic professor with huge experience and expertise in education and research at various Universities. Prof Makgato transitioned into property investment in 2007 with his first investments in student accommodation in Soshanguve, around Pretoria. Today, he owns many properties around Pretoria, Cape Town, and Limpopo, which include multi-lets and many sectional title units. Today, he empowers professionals to move beyond salaries and build sustainable wealth through the RIER Property Investment programs. He trains and mentors emerging investors, showing them how to turn stands, apartments, and rental units into monthly cash flow.
Prof Sylvia Makgato
Co-Founder & COO
Prof Sylvia Makgato is an accomplished academic, property investor, entrepreneur, and mentor with a distinguished career spanning higher education and the property investment sector. Prof Makgato has served in various academic and research roles at leading South African institutions. She is the Co-Founder of RIER Property Investments, a company focused on strategic property acquisition and wealth-building solutions. Through this platform, she plays a central role in investment strategy, mentorship, and business development. She exemplifies the integration of scholarship, entrepreneurship, and mentorship—bridging the gap between academia and industry while empowering others to achieve financial independence through property investment.

RIER Group is an amalgamation of three entities, namely RIER Property Investments, RIER General Services, and Rakgakala Institute of Education and Research. Together, these companies form an integrated ecosystem focused on investment, skills development, and essential services.
